Research Abstract

The current research aims to verify the psychometric properties of the Arabic pictorial linguistic delay test for children with developmental disorders aged 4 to 9 years. The test consists of two main domains: the receptive language domain, which includes 28 items, and the expressive language domain, which includes 24 items, resulting in a total of 52 items. The sample comprised 100 children with developmental disorders, with an age range of 4 to 9 years, an average age of 6.79 years, and a standard deviation of 1.77 years. The researcher employed a descriptive methodology. To ensure the validity and reliability of the test, several methods were used, including expert judges' validity, internal consistency validity through correlation coefficients, exploratory factor validity, and confirmatory factor validity. Additionally, reliability was verified using McDonald's Omega method and split-half reliability. The results indicated the psychometric efficiency of the Arabic pictorial linguistic delay test for children with developmental disorders aged 4 to 9 years, Therefore, the researcher used the current test to measure the linguistic delay of children with developmental disorders from (4-9) years old.
