Atraining program to Improve The Auditory Processing and its Impact on Language Skills for The hard of Hearing Children

PHD Abstract

Study Title: A Training Program To Improve The Auditory Processing And Its Impact On Language Skills For The Hard Of Hearing Children. The study aims to verify the effectiveness of a training program to improve auditory processing, which are represented in basic auditory skills (phonological awareness, auditory discrimination), auditory memory (number memory, word memory, sentence memory), auditory familiarity (audio comprehension, auditory inference) and its impact on The language skills represented in (receptive language skills, expressive language skills) for hearing-impaired children, and the study sample consisted of (12) hearing-impaired boys and girls (6) experimental group from Al-Amal School in Kafr El-Sheikh, (6) control group from Al-Amal School published affiliated to Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, whose hearing loss ranges between (40-69) decibels, and their ages range between (9-12) years, and the training program included (42) sessions in a fourteen-week period, three sessions per week The study tools included a form for collecting primary data for the hard of hearing (prepared by/ researcher), socio-economic and cultural level scale (prepared by/ Mohamed Saafan, Duaa Khattab, 2016), Stanford-Binet intelligence scale, fifth picture (Taqnin/ Mahmoud Abu El-Nile et al., 2011), job note form Auditory measures for hearing impaired children from the teachers’ point of view (prepared/ researcher), a battery for diagnosing auditory processing for children with hearing impairments (prepared/ researcher), language skills scale for hearing impaired children (prepared/ researcher), training program to improve audio processing (prepared/ researcher) The study used the quasi-experimental approach, and the results of the study concluded that the members of the experimental group showed a clear improvement in improving auditory processing, as well as in acquiring language skills after applying the program used in the study, as well as the continuation of the program’s impact until after the end of the follow-up period.
