The Most Commonly Used Rehabilitation Programs with Autism Spectrum Disorder in The Egyptian Environment in Light of International Standards (An Analytical Study)

Master Abstract

The study aimed to identify the most commonly used rehabilitation programs in the Egyptian environment with autism spectrum disorder and analyze them in light of international standards. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach. The number of participants in the study reached (300) specialists with special education qualifications and whose years of experience ranged from (1: 15 years) in the governorates of Egypt in its seven regions. The two tools of the study were a questionnaire to collect data on the most used rehabilitation programs with individuals with autism spectrum disorder in the Egyptian environment (prepared by the researcher), a list of international standards for rehabilitation programs provided to individuals with autism spectrum disorder (prepared by the researcher). The results of the study found that the most used rehabilitation program with individuals with autism spectrum disorder in the Egyptian environment is the "ABLLS" program, where it ranked first, in second place came the "Lovaas" program, in third place came the "TEACCH" program, and in last place came the AFLS program, The results in terms of the degree of applicability of the list of international standards and its indicators to the most used rehabilitation programs in the Egyptian environment found that the general average degree of applicability from the point of view of specialists to the "ABLLS" program is (2.33) and indicates that it applies to a medium degree, and the average of the "Lovaas" program is (2.14) and indicates the applicability to a medium degree, and the average for the "TEACCH" program (2.23) and means the application to a medium degree as well, while the degree of applicability of some indicators of the list in the three programs (ABLLS, Lovaas, TEACCH) differed between the point of view of specialists and analysis Previous studies, and the results confirmed that there were no statistically significant differences between the sample members due to the variables of specialization, years of experience and academic degree Keywords: Rehabilitation Programs, Autism Spectrum Disorder, International Standards, An Analytical Study.
