Effectiveness of the training program on social skills in developing some positive mental variables in blind adolescents

Master Abstract

- The study aimed to Verify the effectiveness of a counseling program in improving self-efficacy among a group of university students and its consequence impact on reducing future anxiety and improving quality of life for the experimental group, and to know the differences which are due to the variable of sex (males-females) on the study variables after applying the counseling program. - The present study sample consisted of (60) male and female students, (28)male students and (32) female students, their ages are between (21-23) years , divided into two samples as follows: one of them is Experimental consisted of(14 males , 16 females), and the other is controller consisted of (14 males,16 females). - The Study instruments consisted of Self-efficacy scale for university students (prepared by / researcher); future anxiety Scale (prepared by / Zainab Choucair, 2005); quality of life Scale for university students (prepared by / researcher); and behavioral cognitive counseling program (prepared by / researcher). - The current study used the quasi-experimental approach.

PHD Abstract

The study aimed to test the effectiveness of a social skills training program in developing some positive psychological variables (self-esteem - level of ambition - happiness) among blind adolescents. The study sample consisted of (60) blind adolescents, (30) experimental groups, (30) control groups who Their ages range between (14-18) years and the program continued to be implemented (25) sessions over a period of time of three months, at two sessions per week. The researcher used the tools: the socio-economic level of the family for Abdulaziz Al-Persona (2010), the self-esteem scale of Madiha Al-Ezaby (1984), the level of ambition scale prepared by the researcher, the happiness scale prepared by the researcher, and the study found the effectiveness of training on social skills in developing some psychological variables. The positive effect of blind adolescents and the effect of training continued after the completion of the program. Key words: Social skills - positive psychological variables - blind adolescents.
