Master Abstract

Social anxiety is one of the common psychological disorders which face individuals in the late childhood. Moreover, it is considered one of the most common disorders in psychiatry as it is designated in the third level of psychological disorders preceded by depression and drugs addiction. -Noticeably, social anxiety is a type of anxiety that had a considerable interest in the field of mental health due to its relationship to several emotional and psychological problems. -This disorder is characterized by an extreme and consistent fear when countering certain social situations that require a performance in public e.g. public speeches, eating and writing in the presence of others or attending social meetings. Some people seek hardly to avoid such situations in order not to behave improperly which in turns causes them confusion. -Those who have this disorder(as showed in DSM-IV) tend to take a lot of time to overcome their fears felt during different social situations. They find a relative difficulty while interacting or talking to strangers. In addition, they suffer from the lack of educational, work and social abilities which results in losing the opportunity to get proper choices in life.
